Went to a local ski shop to get ski’s and they recommend Nordica Nitrous. I was a good intermediate skier back when I skied, which has been a few years. These skis from what I read are for advanced, the ski shop says they are forgiving enough for an intermediate. Any suggestions?
I found a good deal on airfare to Salt Lake City, so I randomly picked a weekend to go.
Unfortunately, not only did I pick a weekend in the middle of the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, I also picked a holiday weekend (MLK day).
So, my question is, where would be a good place to ski this weekend to avoid the crowds? I figure Park City, Canyons and Deer Valley will all be slammed. Does that mean the rest of the resorts near the city will be relatively light? Or will everywhere be pretty much packed?
My family is very new to skiing and we are interested in taking a ski trip. I however am an avid skiier and do black diamonds with little trouble. Anyway we dont want to travel to the europe or canada or somthing. We’d prefer somthing in colorado or somewhere else out west in the rockies. I’d be looking for a place for beginners to improve and that has some areas for more experienced skiiers. Also i would prefer if there were other resorts in the vicinity. Any guidance is much appreciated
I’m thinking maybe it’s slalom or giant slalom since you aren’t going very fast. What do you think? Is it possible to start ski racing as a 20ish guy? How would you start? Are there any stories of people getting good (not necessarily a pro, I would guess that is not possible) at a relatively late age?
