I’ve been looking at ski lift cables for over 20 years – I recently saw a lift being constructed and saw the cable on a roll with the exposed end. How are the two ends connected? I have never seen evidence of the connection.

I’m doing a project on Ski Jumping, and I need to discuss ski jumping profitablity. My many searches on the Internet have led me nowhere! I basically need to know how Ski Jumping makes profits.

I am 25 and really do not know what I want to do with my life. I love to ski and want to know what the best ski towns are. I am looking to be able to ski during the day get a part time job for a couple days a week and go to the local “watering holes” / bars on weekends. What would the best place to do this at for the rest of the winter? I am open to any ideas preferably Colorado, Utah and or Vermont since I am from the east coast.

I’ve just recently taken up skiing, and starting to enjoy it…Im 5 foot 8 weigh around 140. When i rented skis the first time, they gave me a 130. Could someone tell me what a good beginner ski is that isnt for little kids.

We are planning to travel to Queenstown in late July.We got a quote from our agent and the price for hiring and buy passes was very high! I would like a locals opinion on wether to hire our ski equipment such as skis/boots etc and buy our lift passes and transport when we get to Queenstown?Will it be cheaper? Please refrain from advising me to “take it to a ski shop”. I already know about that option.
