We’re not really skiers as we come from the tropics. We just wanted a snow filled vacation for the kids. Tubing, sleigh rides or horseback through snow, hikes through snowy hills/valleys etc. would be a great addition. Budget is moderate as we will stay in NYC to sightsee as well so we don’t want to blow our budget.

I am driving from London to Champoussin for a skiing holiday – do I need a proper 4×4 or will a RWD minivan be ok? Have 6 passengers so prefer a bigger vehicle but will arrange a 7 seat 4×4 if I have to. Are the roads gritted well, and is it safe with 2wd – especially rwd?
