I’m looking for ideas for a ski holiday, either for a weekend or week. My hubby is a keen skier and my daughter and myself are complete beginners

Come to Michigan. Upper lower Michigan has some fun ski resorts. My favorite is Boyne Mountain.

Bulgaria. It’s pretty cheap to fly there, and not too expensive on the ol wine and food. The sking is fine for a beginner.
Either book now as there are some pretty good deals around…or go last minutel

Try Bulgaria. You can get good flight deals flying to Plovdiv airport which is only around an hour away from the ski resort of Pamporovo. (try)

Also, I know of a good hotel in the nearby town of Smolyan that is not very expensive (only 15-20 mins from Pamporovo). There are buses that run from the area up to the mountain range. It is really cheap for eating/drinking/transport to and from the area.

Brasov or Sinaia in Romania. Decent bit of mountain to ski on and conditions pretty reliable. Dirt cheap & you can fly there from Luton with Wizzair early in the new year.
If all you’ve got is a weekend: I’ve had some great trips up to the Cairngorms and Fort William in Scotland, check the snow report first and take an extra fleece though!

Depends where you live. I’m from the UK and I use Equityski that do the holiday ‘all in’ which means all you need is cash for lunch and drinks for the evening. This covers hire, transfers, insurance, hotel half board, ski lessons. Never had a bad hol
