Anyone know the range in prices for lift tickets at mountian region ski resorts?

ed_man118 asked:

I am planning a road trip across the country this winter and I am trying to find out the general cost of one-day lift tickets (not rental or lodging: just lift ticket) in places like Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, California, and Idaho and surrounding areas. Any info is much appreciated. Even if it is very location-specific.

Colorado is about $40-85 dollars each

I agree most will be +$40 max about $70. My local area is around $50, just outside of Seattle (60 miles east.)

Most places in Colorado this winter are $70-90. There are, however, some places which can be a little cheaper… Arapaho Basin, Ski Cooper, Sol Vista, Eldora… If you’re planning on skiing more than 4 or 5 days in Colorado, you can get a season pass that’s unlimited skiing at Keystone, Breckenridge and Arapaho Basin for less than $400, or that plus 10 days at Vail and Beaver Creek for around $400-450 (I haven’t seen the actual prices for this year yet). Some years there’s a deal (for a very limited time, so you have to catch it at the right time) for 4 days at Winter Park or Copper for…umm… really cheap… can’t remember exactly how much, called a 4-pass. They usually sell those at Safeway or King Soopers grocery stores (maybe you can find details online, or call and talk to someone to see if they know what will be coming), and sometimes Walgreens will have some good deals.

I lived there for 5 years and figured out the best deals from people who’ve lived there for their entire lives. I’d assume it’s ending soon, but go to REI and you can buy a 4 pass to Keystone and Breck for $150. You can also buy a Copper Mountain 4 pass for $130 or a Winter Park 4 pass for $140.

These will be the best deals you can find. Be sure to read the fine print for blackout dates. Have fun!
