New Jersey is getting the country’s first snow dome and I just want to know how big are they. Are they any good or do they just in general suck

The title basically says it. If you go to a typical ski resort, is there a chance of getting caught in an avalanche big enough to bury you, especially at the steeper, more difficult slopes/routes? What precautions do the resorts try and take to prevent them?

If not at ski resorts, then when do you run the risk of skiing in an avalanche-prone area?

My girlfriend and I are looking for a nice ski resort. We would like to book a hotel room where there is a nice view, fireplace, and etc, you know something romantic Is there a resort like that and cheap at the same time? Thanks in advance for responding.

Ive been on holiday recently snowboarding, and while on the chair lifts and gondolas weve been thinking about how are these massive structures built in such remote and inaccesible locations? Another part to this is how are the cables (which must way tons) run over the length of the lift, then bonded together and the tension applied?!

Can you help, or point me to a website?

What are good resorts for skiing in New York for just an average skier that likes skiing. I’m 14 and we go skiing every winter in new York but would like to try somewhere else.
