ski resorts
Lauren C asked:

Im going ski’ing for the 1st time next week, and Im intrigued as to how hiring ski boots and ski’s works in a resort. Ive booked and paid for hire of ski’s and boots for myself and my husband for the week but I would like to know how the process works, are they ours for the week? Do we keep them in the room? etc…. thankyou!

You usually get them for the week. Always have in my experience. You collect them the night you arrive and then keep them either in a special room your hotel/chalet has, lockers, on your balcony etc. Have fun!

You keep them for the week.

If you are staying hotel / chalet they will probably have a boot room to leave them in overnight (if you are lucky with a heated boot rack to dry them out). If you are staying in an apartment there might not be a boot room, so you just keep your boots and skis in your room.

Alternatively if your accommodation is far from the slopes and you don’t fancy carrying your skis back and forth, there are normally lockers you can rent for the week close to the slopes.

It depends on each resort or ski rental shop. Ask the one where you rented the skis. At the resort where I work, a season rental set is still returned at the end of each day.
