Ski Resorts?

ski resorts
Rachel Xoxo asked:

I’ve always wanted to learn to ski, so i was thinking about maybe having my sweet 16 at a ski resort. I live in Virginia, but I can travel pretty much anywhere on the east coast. Is there any cool ones on the east coast or should I think of something else?? I don’t want some boring resort either; I want to go somewhere, where me and my friends will have fun.

I hope your birthday is in the Winter, or you are in for a big disappointment ;)

Seriously, though, your closest bet is Snowshoe Resort in West Virginia. It’s not Colorado, but it’s still a lot better than what you’d expect to find in the mid-Atlantic.

Other than that, consider upstate NY, VT, or NH. Sunday River and Killington are well-known.

If you and your friends all go and take a beginner lesson together, it should be a lot of fun. But if one of your friends is already a good skier, she/he might not want to go to a beginner lesson, so you might not see too much of him/her.

Showshoe or Winterplace are probably the best in east.

There are also some really fun ones in North Carolina and since you’ve never skied you don’t really need a really top notch resort.

I think a ski trip is a fabulous idea. You will have a great time~!`
