I’ve recomended this resort so many times now, but it is perfect for your situation.

Flaine, situated in the French Alps, is perfect for young families. With plenty of green runs, which are free to access it offers brilliant resources for beginners. There are several ski schools, with easy access (literally a walk out of your hotel).

The kids will soon build up there confidence with the ski school, depending on how old they are and be able to do their first green run (easiest), which is free (you don’t have to pay for lifts).

If not, there are several nursery slopes, one large long one, at the bottom of the resort (with a free chair lift to the top) which is fantastic for beginners.

Once you become more experienced there are plenty of runs further up the mountain (with breath taking views), doing this you’ll have to pay for a lift pass. However the beginners passes run on a point system, 14 point to go to the top (I think) and you just top it up. Plus its free between 12-2 (as my fiance and I discovered).

But anyway im rambling on, if you have any questions dont hesitate to contact me.

    Take care, Claire :D

My ultimate absolute favourite is Passo Tonale in Italy. Gorgeous runs, great friendly people, not far to lug skis and stuff (especially hard if you’ve got kids with you as they don’t carry their own) before you are on the mountain and skiing. Lots of easy runs and a ski school that was fab. Ours started there a couple of years back and are now racing at home.

Depends on what you want to do when you are there. We visited a husky place. You could sled but we instead (cos kids were quite small) played with the dogs, fed them and watered them when they came back from a run with others. Fantastic.

Plenty of walks, a couple of hotel pools in the resort. The Sporthotel had a kids club and plenty to do. You can bum board (ours spent so many hours when not skiing just going up and down and having great fun).
