squaw valley is a great mountain, near truckee. so is heavenly, on the south shore. but If you are into steep and fun kirkwood is your place, a short 30 minutes away from south shore. homewood is a boarder friendly moantain also it is on the west sore of the lake close to tahoe city. as for lodgeing if you have enough people it might be cost effective to rent a cabin or condo. just search for ski rentals in lake tahoe.

well, it really depends on your level of snowboarding. for beginners, there is a nice, not crowded family resort called donner ski ranch. then, for intermediate snowboarders, sugar bowl is probably really good. for advanced, defininatly heavenly or squaw valley. night skiing would be @ boreal. i'm not quite sure about the good lodges since everytime that i head up to tahoe, i just stay @ the lodge of the ski resort. one downside to that is that they don't normally have a continental breakfast included.

On the north shore Squaw is probably the best overall and on the south shore it's probably Heavenly. That being said there are lots of other great options depending on whether you're a family, a beginner an expert etc.

I'm actually more partial to Kirkwood which is outside of the Tahoe Basin and staying at their lodge is great.

Accommodations depend on whether you want a hotel or a lodge or to rent a cabin. There are some great cabins for rent right by most ski slopes which eliminates the travel problem.

Try a variety or ask a local once you get up there what they recommend. Most people around Tahoe are extremely helpful.

Oh and on the north shore, there are some nice places in Truckee.
