Heck yeah! I agree with Miss La Di. Aspen, Vail, and Beaver Creek are wayyyyyy over priced. People just go there to be seen and to try to see celebrities.

Smaller ski resorts would be your best bet for all-inclusive and affordable ski packages. Cooper is good, so is Copper Mountain. I don't recommend Keystone, but Breckenridge is pretty good too. Breckenridge can get pretty expensive, but they've got three whole mountains and one mountain alone is just for beginners! So you don't have advanced skiers rushing by ya at 100 mph while you are trying to master standing up. :)

if you are going to be learning to ski, dont spend $400 on a ticket, you wil be on the kiddie hill, for a MAX of 6 hours a day. its just not worth it.as a local, i reccomend Ski Cooper, it is a small hill with 2 chairlifts, a poma, kiddie hill, green and blue runs, and almost no tourists, it is off the beaten path, yet easy to get to. only 15 minutes from historic leadville, and 25 minutes from Vail, ski cooper is great! tickets run for about $30. or, ski lessons, rental and lift ticket will run you $50-$60 as opposed to around $300 for lesson and rental alone.

hope i helped!!!

aspen is more like 4.5 hours from denver. less like 2. and its more expensive then vail.

I would suggest Aspen, its about 2 hours from Denver. Its known for having lots of events, nice restaurants, great skiing, and alot of celebrities have condos or houses there, which I guess it means its a pretty top notch resort!
