What is the difference between ski flying and ski jumping?

just watching biathalon on tele and they were talking about the ski flying championships I have seen ski jumping before but i have never heard of ski flying

    its when people go off a massive jump and position thies ski in such a way that allowes them to soar over 200 feet

    The difference is the length of the inrun and the pitch. Ski jumping is divided into 3 classes of hill
    70 meter, 90 meter and 100 meter hills. Ski flying is above 120 meter distance in the air. Hope this helps. You can check with the FIS website, since the distances are taken from memory which may be off.

    Ski flying is what I do in my dreams. Ski jumping is what I do on the hill. :-)
