What part of Southern California still has snow? Any suggestions for a good ski resort?

Two of my friends are planning something for the weekend, and one of them had ski trip on their mind! Any suggestions for ski resorts?
We live in the Long Beach area, by the way? What’s the farthest ski resort? What’s the closest?

You guys should try if Big Bear still has snow. I’m not sure if it still has, but you should go check it out.

    PS
I know you’re still angry at me for defending Kim, but I’m sorry, man. I know how you feel too, bro, believe me. I’ve had my heart broken a couple of times now. I know how you feel. I REALLY do, T-Man. I just don’t know what to think right now.

The closest ski resort from Long Beach is Mt. Baldy.

If you’ve got the time, make the long drive up to Mammoth. Call in sick a couple of days if you have to. But if you aren’t up to the long long drive, Head on up to Big Bear. They have plenty of fresh snow from this latest storm and the skiing should be great. Have a good time!

Big Bear is a great resort. It is about a 2 hour drive from L.B.
I live in Garden Grove and it is 2 hours on a good day. Be careful of black ice. It is better to go up in the afternoon or evening so the black ice gets a chance to thaw out. There are lots of places to stay and a motel 6 if your budget is restricted.
Mammoth is about 5 hours away. It is a great place! Expensive compared to BB. Lift ticket is about $78 compared to BB at $51.00. Accommodations will run about $70-80 apiece.
The biggest hang=up right now is the weather. They have had about 10 straight days of snow. I was there last weekend. Saturday was great, Sunday was snow and blizzard conditions in the afternoon and they closed the mountain.
It is a great place with all kinds of terrain but the weather is the big factor.
If you want something for the day like mentioned by one of the other answers is Baldy or Mountain High.
Have a great time and be careful! Wear a helmet!
