What ski resorts are near major airports in the eastern U.S?

ski resorts
handsomeprince75 asked:

Looking for one no more than 30-45 minutes from an airport. Preferably with a shuttle service to a hotel or the resort.
I mean any regular airport, not just the big ones. I know of places out west but none in the east.

If by “Major Airports” you mean Logan, LaGuardia, JFK, Newark, Philly, Reagan, and Dulles…then there aren’t any. There are a few podunk hills near Lancaster, PA…maybe 45-60 minutes from Philly. With luck, you might make it to Mountain Creek, NJ in just over an hour from Newark. If you are looking to go to a major eastern resort and you need an airport, you’ll most likely have to fly into Albany NY, Burlington VT, Manchester NH, Scranton, PA or Allentown PA. Even then, these airports are still not close to a lot of resorts, but your chances of getting a shuttle are better.

Edit: It is a 1hour drive from Burlington Airport to Stowe. I have driven it often. Bolton Valley is about 40 minutes from Burlington, and Smugglers’ Notch is about 50 minutes, given traffic, farmers, and moose.)

Stowe, Vt is a ski resort near Burlington, VT. You can get flights from
    most airports directly into Burlington.

Stowe? I don’t know how close it is, less than an hour I’d assume. From Burlington. And its fun!
