what ski slopes in the east can you reach through public transportation?

i live in DC, and have a week off grad school, and just got laid off my internship. i was thinking of going to new orleans but it’s too expensive right now to take a plan on short notice. what ski slopes can i get to without a car at this point?

    there are shuttles that leave nyc going to rutland/okemo vermont area…only catch is that you have to get from dc to nyc now but i dont know of any quality ski resorts in your area so it might just be worth the trip…amtrak also now travels to rultand–check out the link and scroll down a bit
