Where can I find the best deals to ski out west?

ski
Gabrielle asked:

I’m looking to book a ski trip out West either the week before or of Christmas. I’ve skied about 10 different mountains, from Colorado to Wyoming and British Columbia. I would like to do it as cheaply as possible (which is almost impossible when you go West) But the accomodations/mountain have to be great.
Thanks!

Have you looked into Mammoth or Tahoe, CA?

I would also look into some of the lesser known Utah resorts, such as Sun Valley or Park City.

Mt. Hood Meadows (near Portland, OR) used to do $10 night skiing on Saturdays, maybe they still do… Mt. Bachelor in Bend, OR has a “bring 3 cans of food for the homeless and ski for free” day in January. Even though the event brought out the crowds, the mountain is so big that it doesn’t really matter!

To save money, don’t go at Christmas. Lodging rates are at the highest then. Choose early December or between the MLK/Presidents weeks.

go to expedia.com/travelocity.com/hotels.com/orbitz.com for good rates.

I must say that a few of my favorite mountains have been
    Squaw, California
    Vail, Colorado
    Snowmass, Colorado
    Snowbird, Utah

I’ve also heard GREAT things about Mammouth, Whistler and Jackson Hole.

    park city, utah
There are 7 resorts within 20 minutes so you wont get board of only 1 mountain.
