If you want some really unique spectacular place, go to Termas de Chillan in Chile. That place is AMAZING. You have to take a short flight from Santiage to Chillan, and then a van from the resort (called "Termas de Chillan"). The town itself is ugly. But, the slopes are fun, not as crowded as American ones, the place is really beautiful and the resort has a lot of amenities. At least give it a thought!
