This will be my 1st time skiing in North America (I’m from Brazil, we usually go to Chile and Argentina), so I want to be 100% sure I made a good choice.

What are the ski resorts that are sure to be open by early December?

For those who’re saying my question is too broad: I live in Brazil, so ANYWHERE in North America is an option for me.
Since I can only go in early December, I’m aware most of the ski stations will be opening – or still closed.

If anyone knows of any issues facing ski resorts, please tell me!!!
I have to be able to take a for-or-against position on it.

I would like to stay in a village high up in the mountains, full of snow, with no cars if possible and with many slopes. I have been told about Zermatt but I can’t find a room there. Anything similar?

Many people have the long weekend off, and I was wondering if that’s traditionally a busy skiing day.

I might have been asking the wrong questions, but I can’t figure this out. I’m getting married next year and my fiance and I would prefer a resort that isn’t tropical. Something cold, snowy, etc. But we don’t want a ski resort. I’m having trouble finding anything like this, and every time I search I get ski lodges and such. Any ideas?

My boyfriend and I are looking to go skiing somewhere close to NJ, we were thinking Camelback in PA, or NY somewhere. We want to stay in a cabin with a fireplace, does anyone have any suggestions?? Anything really helps. I would like to stay in a cabin for sure, with hot tubs if possible.. and it would be great if there were bars in the resort or nearby. And does anyone know of any places that have natural hot springs? I’ve always wanted to go to a hot spring. Whether at a ski resort or not.. it would be awesome at a ski resort!

I snowboard at various places on the east coast (Vermont, New York, Massachusetts) and have seen it here at some of the bigger mountains. It mainly seems to be bras with the occasional panty thrown in for variety, I guess. I have also spoken to friends who have seen it at resorts in other parts of the country, but no one has an explination.

I just got back from Winter Park, Colorado and wanted to go up to NC or WV for MLK. Is there a solid base this year or will it be slush and mud?
